Websites that give to others

Son,

The internet is being skillfully used by several organizations to promote giving to others. Check these out.

http://www.freerice.com – I enjoyed this site. I went there investigating and found myself participating. Rice is donated through the United Nations World Food Program for every click on their site.

thehungersite.com – equally important but a little less easy to navigate, thehungersite.com is aligned with Mercy Corps and American’s Second Harvest. Quoting from their site:

“The Hunger Site was founded to focus the power of the Internet on a specific humanitarian need: the eradication of world hunger. Since its launch in June 1999, the site has established itself as a leader in online activism, helping to feed the world’s hungry. On average, over 220,000 individuals from around the world visit the site each day to click the yellow “Click Here to Give – it’s FREE” button. To date, more than 300 million visitors have given more than 500 million cups of staple food. ”

thebiblesite.com will donate one Bible per click. One click per visitor per day is the only qualifier. So visit daily.

ecologyfund.com is a variety pack. This ecology site is all about saving South American rainforests, planting trees, and reducing pollution. A worthy venture.

Readers, what other sites do you recommend?
