Conspiracy theroies – from simple to complex

Holy Cow! Our system of education must surely be failing. I suppose that mentally ill people with sound knowledge could make irrational judgments. But all Conspiracy Theorists are not mentally ill. So what is this phenomenon of conspiracy that seams to permeate our modern society?

Crazy Sprinkler Lady:

Irony abounds in the following video on religious conspiracy. The folks who made this video are attempting to use fear to denounce the use of fear. This is one of those ‘New World Order’ ideas that seems to satisfy the conspiratorial need of people who need to have a problem to solve. But hey – my aregument is the same as theirs – I am just on the other side of the coin.

The first video of the crazy sprinkler lady is important. This video clearly demonstrates a break in logic that is consistent with all wacky conspiracy theories: Use a conspiracy to explain a natural phenomenon. The second video is much more sophisticated – but the logic is the same. Early man created a conspiracy of godly proportions to explain the universe as they knew it.

These works of wackos would be really funny if they were not meant to be so serious. We as a species are blessed with the truth of an old axiom: “You can fool all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.”

Today we find people inventing conspiracies to explain massive economic swings. To prove our point we anecdotally point to real conspiracies of the past to manipulate our economy. Try this one one for size: Oil prices are skyrocketing because two Oil Men run the White House. The second video in this post would have us believe that the ‘New World Order’ is a small group of men systematically organized to manipulate our daily lives.

The religious conspiracy theorists came to power with the Moral Majority in 1979. The Republican politicians saw an opportunity for large blocks of votes and feigned an embrace of the loonies. The strategy worked for awhile. But the loonies can’t fool all of the people all of the time. In 2008 we have seen a mass rejection of wackoism dressed up as faith. The Republican brand is now paying for their indiscretion.

But conspiracy theories, as noted, are not unique to modernity. A fundamental conspiracy theory of many Christians begins with the angel Satan conspiring against God. That conspiracy is alive and well today. One of the means of capturing intrigue in the Bible is in the use of Conspiracy. The writers knew that a good suspense thriller would be a best seller.

The Mormon Church was founded on the belief that the Catholics had conspired with Satan to take over the church of Jesus. Check out basic Mormon theology.

People have always loved a good conspiracy theory. And they always will.

Check out this theory – Roswell Secrets have been sold to the Chinese.

Here is an example of a more sophisticated development of conspiracy ( JFK Assassination)

This site is a rebuke of 911 conspiracy theorists.

I love the irony of this paragraph in context of your blog post.
