The Redneck, The Italian, and The German

A redneck an Italian and a German were captured by the French.  All convicted – they were sentenced to death by the guillotine.

The Italian was led to the platform and given one last opportunity say his last words.  He said, “Long live Italy.”

The French put his head on the block and let the blade fall.  The blade stuck about two inches over the Italian’s head.  The law stated that no one should have to suffer this fate twice – sot the Italian was freed.

The German was led to the platform – also given a chance at any last words.  He said, “Long Live Germany.”

They put his head on the block and again let the blade fall.  Again the blade stopped just short of the intended target.  Again the French had to let the prisoner go free.

The Redneck was led to the platform, given a chance at any last words.  He said, “You know what?  I’ll bet if you would tighten that bolt this thing might work.”

  1. I hate to admit it. I really do, but, that’s funny. The French are just not the greatest engineers.
