For Miranda, A Special Granddaughter

Billy Collins is an inspirational modern poet.  There is some amusing irony in this particular Colbert episode with Collins.  Collins speaks to writing out of a ‘persona’.  The irony is his interviewer is Colbert – a man who lives his life in a persona separate from himself.  But this post is not about Colbert or Collins – I am thinking of Miranda.

While this is an amusing interview – the significance to me is the poem about a young woman.  My mind raced to my granddaughter Miranda.  She was my first born grand child.  As first born, and obviously only grandchild, she captured my heart.  Now a first year college student, Miranda has again emerged as a heart captivating grandchild.
