Stand For Defense of Constitution

From a post by Nancy: Well… Can’t speak for all Americans, but sometimes I get peeved and as an American that loves my freedoms and ability to choose my actions and beliefs… Demanding and legislating that everyone must stand for the Anthem is the WRONG way to go. Should proud citizens of the USA show […]

Why Obamacare Isn’t Enough

We have been entangled in a running debate in our society about health care, the related skyrocketing costs, and how we are going to pay for them.  In spite of the political backlash initially endured by the White House Administration, the Affordable Care Act, where the rubber meets the road and where the pocket book […]

The Threat of Fascism in 21st Century America

Fascism – a scary word.  Most of us do not know what fascism means – we just feel certain it has something to do with a bad method of government or of economic systems.  Fascism is a word like Communism or Socialism or Marxism – we don’t feel the need to understand the exact meaning […]

The Concept of “Small Business” in 2009

When I was a child growing up in an Ozzie and Harriet neighborhood we had neighborhood grocery stores, hardware stores, gas stations with neighborhood mechanics, and a small bakery. All of these businesses were mom and pop operations. All were a joy to visit. There was always a friendly face and a genuine desire to help the customer. The environment of that time was one of mutual respect and support. As Joe DiMaggio might say, “Nostalgia is not what it used to be.” America has changed – and the mega corporations drive the economy.

Amazing Grace – Dr. Wintley Phipps

Dr. Wintley Phipps can make an atheist believe. There is no way to listen to this man sing without feeling something divine. We are truly living in a blessed time – a time when this talent can be readily shared across the globe.

Life or Death – Warrior Virtues

The disaster of September 11, 2001, redefined our nation’s leadership. Perhaps. It may also be that the disaster of terrorism merely focused or gave clarity to a foregone destiny. Our President, George W. Bush, issued his proclamation. He did so with a sense of nobility right out of the Dark Ages. He said, “There is […]

McCain’s Spiritual Guide – Inciting Hatred

John McCain’s Republican Party is attacking Barack Obama this week with advertisements highlighting the loony Reverend Jeremiah Wright.  McCain has said that he would not go there – and now claims he can’t control independent groups. We are talking about the Republican National Committee.  John McCain is the standard bearer of his party.  John McCain […]

Who Won The Debate, 9-26-2008

This writer watched closely. We felt that each candidate accomplished what they needed for this particular evening. Obama showed he could stand on the stage of foreign policy with McCain. After a tumultuous week of zig zagging McCain needed to show himself in command of his faculties. Here are some reviews done by other media […]

Obama Responds to McCain Campaign Suspension

(Editor Note: The picture with this post looks like Obama is waving goodbye.  That is a coincidence). 3:40 PM CST:  The opening comment, “There is much blame to go around but we are now here.  We have to act quickly but we have to get it right… I reached out to Senator McCain because many […]

Michelle Obama’s DNC Speech

This is truly a lady of first class stature. This is a person who did not seek public attention – it has been thrust upon her by a successful husband. Mrs. Obama has risen to the occasion. She demonstrates an eloquence missing from the First Lady ranks since Jackie Kennedy. Here she is at the […]

A Season for Hope – Ted Kennedy

This writer grew up watching the Kennedy family. We watched and followed John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy. We cried with the nation when those great men were assassinated. We were saddened when Senator Ted Kennedy seemed to fail the legacy. But Ted Kennedy is a man who demonstrates that there is salvation in America. […]

Clinton Ambushed Obama in Florida

Son, Hillary Clinton played a nasty game tonight. She ambushed Barack Obama in Florida. How so? There was no open competition. The Democratic National Committee chose not to recognize the Florida Primary because Florida chose to move the date of the Primary. The candidates had agreed not to campaign in Florida and to not accept […]

Leader or Expert – Choosing a President

Son, Mitt Romney claims that leadership is more important than expertise on topic. “They are looking for judgment, wisdom, willingness to reach out to others, gaining the right information to make choices… Instead of asking who has the most expertise we should be asking who has the most executive leadership experience…. ” Very interesting points. […]
