Shocked, but not surprised.  That is often the reaction of intelligent people when bad things happen.  A very bad thing is happening on our planet.  Poverty and hunger have become so devastating that the statisticians now refer to a segment of the human population as ‘the bottom billion.’

We are talking about people who live on a dollar a day or less.  About a billion people.  That is a Thousand Million people, a Gig in more technical terms.  The numbers are so staggering that we cannot fully grasp the devastation.  Unable to fathom the sadness, we reduce the human tragedy to statistics.

The ultimate in betrayal. The turning on one’s followers. The lost hope. John McCain was once the hope of the Republican Party.

McCain was the man who was to bring the Party back from the wacko fringe of Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. He was the man who was to restore the Reagan Revolution.

McCain has sold out to the Bush Republicans. McCain has sacrificed his integrity to embrace the strategies and tactics of mean and hateful politics. McCain has embrace Karl Rove.

Is it a coincidence that people named Karl are in favor of totalitarianism?

We are in a time of flux. This is a difficult time for statisticians. The Media Pundits are dissecting the election statistics, trying to make sense of demographics and results. Some say Obama is about generational issues. Clinton is about gender. Edwards about populism. Huckabee about evangelism. This is not a time when these statistics are predictors - they are merely interesting after-the-fact notes.

The assumption by pundits that they can predict based on demographics is flawed. Flawed because this election is not about the selfishness of demographic affiliation - it is about rescuing the future of America. It is about the Demographic of Justice, of Domestic Tranquility, of Common Defense, of General Welfare, and the Blessings of Liberty.

John McCain has brought sanity back into the Republican Party. McCain is the realistic optimist of Ronald Reagan. The Reagan Revolution has been hijacked by abusive personalities who hope only for power and control. When an abused spouse cries out for help we provide an Abuse Shelter. We provide a place of sanctuary. We provide a place of hope for the future.

The abusive tactics of Rush Limbaugh and Bob Novak has run their course. Some of the really sick, those who are gripped by fear, will hang around. They don’t like it - but they cannot see any other option. Options are presented - but the abused spouse has been psychologically battered and cannot hear.
