Creating routines for easier mornings…

Dad,

I am trying to implement some of the suggestions that I have received from our readers about easing the tension around taking my daughter to preschool. I am being careful to try and do a few things the same way every morning that she has school. She gets to pick out the clothes that she is going to wear, and we play the number game as we walk to school. We also try to find things that she recognizes from movies that she has seen (one fragile way of redeeming the number of movies she watches in a day.) I also stayed with her for a few minutes and engaged some of the other kids, then talked to her teacher for a few minutes. It went pretty well, though she still cried when I left, but it was definitely better. I am hoping that, with time and a new routine, her experience with our walks to school might not be so traumatic. Well, for me, anyway.

Any other ideas or recommendations?

Bryan.
