Some argue that terrorism has been going on since the start of the Civil War, with setting trains on fire to shooting prisoners. The American Heritage Dictionary describes terrorism as “the unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons”.

Domestic terrorism in the United States has generally had a political motive associated with current events and is not necessarily a one party affiliation. The Oklahoma City bombing was done by two right-wing extremist.

Today the spotlight falls on Obama’s link to Bill Ayers. The chants of “kill him” and “terrorist” have revealed the ignorance and bigotry still alive today. These sorts of mindless, vile comments are what perpetuate the anti-Semitic badge on the GOP. Hours of reasonable research (not conspiracy research); have shown Obama as a victim of circumstance, save his affiliation with Rev. Wright. The Obama and Wright link is questionable but has no bearing on this issue.

When I joined the United States Marine Corps, I swore an oath to protect the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That does not mean I stand guard over the glass case which houses the written Constitution. What it means is I will guard the laws, principles, and freedoms of this country described in the Constitution. Bill Ayers violated these laws and principles thus I dub him a domestic enemy.

Under the definition of terrorism, Bill Ayers is a terrorist. Some say activist, I say terrorist. The Weathermen started out as the Students for a Democratic Society. They were non-violent activists for a wide range of issues with strong reference on civil rights. The Weathermen were formed from this sect as a violent arm of these activists in protest to the Vietnam War.

In 1969 they wrote a Declaration of War against the U.S. Government. They bombed a San Francisco police department where one officer was killed and the other severely wounded. Then they bombed the house of a NY State Supreme Court Justice. While planning a bombing of a non-commissioned officer’s dance at Ft. Dix, a bomb prematurely went off killing three of the Weathermen. After this incident they made an effort to bomb structures while no one was present.

Today Bill Ayers is now a renowned educator and enabler for the rights of the poor. Nobility lives here, but he is still a domestic enemy in my view. The only reason this man is not in prison is because the FBI was found at fault for violating civil rights on the grounds of search and seizure without a warrant.

To say Obama is a terrorists because he knows and worked with Bill Ayers on community and civil rights issues is to say everyone who were in Timothy McVeigh’s Army unit are terrorists because of their association with him.

Obama is not a terrorist, McCain is not a racist. These are two of the finest Senators who are attempting to achieve the same goal and complete the same agenda, prosperity for America.
