Bearing the Sword of Justice

I am Aries, born under Mars.

I swing a heavy sword,

the heavy sword of justice.

The sword strikes at ignorance,

at injustice, at human frailty.

A child is threatened.

Captured by the rogue of the closed mind.

The child, once destined for greatness,

becomes the rogue.

Small town America,

a bastion of self righteous judgment,

protector of evil thinking,

prejudice, discrimination, judgment.

Curiosity and confidence are met with disdain.

Curiosity is the mark of childhood foolishness,

confidence is mere arrogance.

Crush the evil curiosity,

condemn confidence.

Destroy hopes and dreams,

vilify progress, demonize education,

fortify the walls,

deny literature, history, the arts.

Knowledge is evil, one must not read,

the tyranny of ignorance must prevail.

I swing a heavy sword.

The sword has two edges.

I strike at injustice and hit my mark,

the sword has two edges.

One strikes the mark,

the other strikes back.

The Knight of justice always suffers,

for ignorance, prejudice, discrimination

will always leave grief in the wake.

I am Aries, destined for grief.
